My friend Michale Broom just published a fine post #3 of Eight Disciplines for Planned Change.
He talks about the type of communication needed in order to communicate change. I think he wisely included a photo of Star Trek’s Data (a sentient android for those who care) who loved data.
In my comment to this post, I thought that Data could become the patron saint of organizational change. Think about it, most influence strategies are heavy on one-way communication filled with lots of data, timelines, and so forth. And when our stunning PowerPoint presentation doesn’t work, we add clip art and do it all over again.
