Recent Research on Change Management Success Rates
Very good blog post from Management Issues blog on research in the UK branch of Towers Watson.
Here was my comment to them:
Thanks for a very good post. When I started writing about change in organizations (Beyond the Wall of Resistance) in 1996, some 70% of changes failed. As I was updating the book two years ago, I was surprised (and stunned) to learn that the failure rate was still at about 70%. The research you cite offers good reasons why the failure rate still remains high. But the good news is that if organizations could change those statistics easily and increase their chances of success.
